Eco-Green Finishes
Do you enjoy that "new paint" smell? Not many do, and there's a good reason. The source of that smell is volatile organic compounds (VOCs) released from the material, which then permeates your environment. According to the EPA, "During and for several hours immediately after certain activities, such as [painting,] . . . levels may be 1,000 times . . . outdoor levels."
VOC health implications include:
- Eye, nose, and throat irritation
- Headaches
- Loss of coordination
- Nausea
- Damage to liver, kidney, and central nervous system
The green products we use have either no or little oder (VOCs) and meet either LEED or Green Seal recommendations.
